Species Sextius atromaculatus Distant, 1916

Compiler and date details

11 April 2012 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

The type locality of this species was given simply as Queensland by Distant (1916) and Broomfield (1971) but Day (1999) indicated that it was Cooktown without justification. The type specimen was collected by F.P. Dodd who did most of his collecting in the wet tropics of North Queensland (Monteith 1991) and it is likely that the specimen originated from this region.
