Introduction

Previously treated as Proscymnodon plunketi (Waite, 1910) but that species shown to be a synonym of Scymnodon macracanthus (Regan, 1906) by Vaz (2021)

States

New South Wales, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia


Extra Distribution Information

Off Port Macquarie, NSW to off Portland VIC; temperate and near Perth, WA, south Pacific (New Zealand, Norfolk Ridge, south-west Indian Ocean); most Australian records are misidentifications of other species (Zambeus squamosus and Centroscymnus owstonii).
