Diagnosis
Shell oval in lateral view with rostrum and posterior process. Surface punctate or with longitudinal ridges or medial sulcus. Lamellar prolongation of selvage with fringe of hairs along anterior and neutral margins of shell. First antenna: first segment without bristles, second with one dorsal bristle, 3rd with 1 dorsal and 1 ventral, 4th with 1 distodorsal and 2 distoventral, 5th with 1 distoventral bristles having short terminal filaments; 6th segment reduced with short distomedial bristle, 7th segment reduced, sensory bristle of adult male with long filaments concentrated on bulbous segment occupying proximal 1/5 of bristle. Second antenna: endopod 1-segmented with 1 long hirsute bristle and 1–3 short bare bristles; exopod with 9 segments. Mandibula of female without large pincers. Maxillula with only 2 stout segments. Fifth limb with large teeth. Sixth limb: end segment with relatively slight posterior projection. Furca: third claw more slender than 4th.
