Suborder MYODOCOPINA Sars, 1866
Introduction
The Myodocopina are distinguished from the Paleomyodocopina principally by the absence of a subcentral node in the carapace (Kornicker and Sohn 2000). There are three superfamilies in the Myodocopina: Cypridinoidea (Cypridinidae), Sarsielloidea (Philomedidae, Rutidermatidae, Sarsiellidae), and Cylindroleberidoidea (Cylindroleberididae). These are distinguished principally by the morphological features of the appendages (Kornicker et al. 2006).
Diagnosis
Same as for the order.
