Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, herbivore (associated flora: Corymbia tessellaris (F.Muell.) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson [MYRTACEAE] Carbeen, Manna Gum, Moreton Bay Ash (on flowers); Syzygium floribundum F.Muell. [MYRTACEAE] Weeping Satin Ash (on flowers)), volant.

Larva: wood-borer (associated flora: Ceratopetalum gummiferum Sm. [CUNONIACEAE] Christmas Bush; Eucalyptus crebra F.Muell. [MYRTACEAE] Narrow-leaved Ironbark; Rhodomyrtus psidioides (G.Don) Benth. [MYRTACEAE] Native Guava; Kunzea ambigua (Sm.) Druce [MYRTACEAE] Tick Bush; Syzygium floribundum F.Muell. [MYRTACEAE] Weeping Satin Ash).

Extra Ecological Information

Williams & Williams (1983) recorded this species from Ceratopetalum gummiferum (Cunoniaceae); Williams (1985) recorded this species' emergence from dead, dry trunk wood of Rhodomyrtus psidioides and dead, dry branches of Sysygium floribundum (Myrtaceae); Williams (1995) added Waterhousea floribunda (Myrtaceae); Cowie (2001) recorded this species from Eucalyptus viminalis. Williams (1982) recorded this species taken at a high intensity mercury vapour light.
