Introduction

This endemic genus is currently monotypic but Day (1999) recognised an undescribed species in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Diagnosis

The face of the head, excluding the eyes, is as wide as long and the hind margin of the face is strongly arched. The lateral pronotal processes are horizontal and apically acute and do not extend as far, laterally, as the humeral angles. The median pronotal process, which is continuous anteriorly with a ridge extending to the anterior margin of the pronotum, is apically curved downward. It extends, in the ♂, as far as the apex of Cu1b and, in the ♀, to Cu1a. In the tegmina, M and Cu1 are basally fused and the only linking crossvein is m–cu3 (Evans 1966).

Lateral pronotal processes apically blunt (reduced to minute ridges in type female). Face only slightly broader than high. Clypeus short, lobes almost horizontal. Median pronotal process short, straight and wider anteriorly. 5th apical cell wider than other apical cells (Day 1999).

Day (1999) provided a comprehensive redescription of the genus.
