Species Plesiopenaeus armatus (Spence Bate, 1881)

Introduction

De Grave & Fransen (2011) list Cerataspis monstruosus Gray, 1828 among the unavailable names.
Bracken-Grissom et al. found out that what was known as Cerataspis monstruosus Gray, 1828 turned out to be a larval stage of Plesiopenaeus armatus (Bate, 1881), which would be junior synonym as the more recent name. However, the authors proposed to keep Plesiopenaeus and suppress Cerataspis in order to favour nomenclatorial stability as the former is a widely accepted name.
