Type species:

Introduction
There is considerable confusion over the correct name for the species treated here as P. argentilineatus, resulting from the lectotype designation. In the Catalogue of Fishes it has been suggeted that the lectotype might not have been part of the type series, but the specimen is labelled as being from the type locality. Eschmeyer (1998) reported that the lectotype was also the lectotype of P. kalolo. Murdy & Jaafar (2017) suggesed that a lectotype had not been designated for P. kalolo (but is a syntype of P. kalolo) and that the report of Eschmeyer was incorrectly attributed to Murdy (1989). Kottelat (2013) argued that that designation was valid from Eschmeyer (1998) and considered P. argentilineatus as a synonym of P. kalolo. In the interests of stability, we follow Murdy & Jaafar (2017).
