• Equula longimana Cantor, T.E. 1850. Catalogue of Malayan fishes. Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal 18(2): 983-1443 pls 1-14 [dated 1849] [1134] [derivation from the Latin longus = long + manus = hand, although derived from a noun, the word was treated by the original author as an adjective and is accepted here as an adjective, similar to unimanus = one handed].

   Holotype BMNH 1860.3.19.184 half skin, Malayan Peninsula and Islands.
