Introduction
This species is reasonably common and widespread in SE Australia although it is variable in colouring. There are probably more specimens in unsorted Idiocerinae in collections.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder (associated flora: Melaleuca sp. [MYRTACEAE]).
Diagnosis
Greyish testaceous, vertex ventrally with two small spots anteriorly, almost concealed by pronotum. Scutelum with two small wedge-like spots anteriorly, partly concealed by the pronotum. Veins of corium sanguineous (sometimes brownish). Length 3½ mm. (Kirkaldy 1907).
This species can be distinguished by the presence of four small brown spots on the pronotum in most specimens, and by the shape of the male abdominal apodemes and male and female genitalia (Webb 1983).
