Introduction

This species is known from four specimens, the holotype female, a paratype male in BMNH and two specimens in the J.W. Evans collection, one of which is female and the other is missing its abdomen. All are from the type locality. It is a small pale species from Kangaroo Island in South Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head ventral surface almost flat, pale biscuit colour, with a rectangular grey area lying against the posterior margin; ocelli brown, eyes black. Crown wide, pale brown and pale yellowish brown with two small black spots close to the anterior margin. Pronotum concolorous with the crown. Tegmen dull whitish grey with several scattered brown spots, apical cells hyaline, veins white. Thorax ventral surface black. Abdomen ventral surface pale biscuit colour. Length 2.5 mm (Evans 1941).

This species can be distinguished by its apically bifurcate styles (Webb 1983).
