- Parataeniophorus Bertelsen, E. & Marshall, N.B. 1956. The Miripinnati, a new order of teleost fishes. Dana Reports 42: 1-34 figs 1-15 pl. 1 [8] [Technically the name is not available from the Dana Report because no type species was designated. Eschmeyer 1990 suggested that it could date to the Zoological Record for 1956 with P. gulosus designated as type species].
