Type species:
Gobius echinocephalus Rüppell, 1830 by monotypy.
Introduction
Paragobiodon echinocephalus was recorded from Cocos (Keeling) Island (Allen & Smith-Vaniz 1994), but several species have been confused under that name and the record is not included here.
