The species is listed as Vulnerable under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. It was listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN in 1996.

Extra Distribution Information

Recorded only from southern VIC in the Yarra River (145º44´E) and the Eumerella River (142º00´E) in south-western VIC and Bool Lagoon system, SA; temperate.
