Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië 6: 89-114 [107] [derivation apparently from the Greek xanthos = yellow + oura = tail, suggesting a noun, but we follow common usage here in treating it as an adjective, although Bleeker appears to have treated xanthurus as a noun in other genera].
