Introduction
The small family Psettodidae comprises a single genus, Psettodes, and three tropical species, two from the Atlantic and one from the Indo-west Pacific including Australian waters (Norman 1934; Nelson 2006). The maximum size of the Pacific species, referred to as the Queensland Halibut in Australia, is 60 cm in length and 10 kg in weight, making it the largest Australian flatfish.
