Introduction

Another species collected by R.E. Turner in 1936 at Dedari, Western Australia. Day and Fletcher (1994) report that Turner's visit to Dedari was shortly after the region received some of the highest levels of rainfall ever recorded in that region and some of the specimens he collected remain as the only known specimens of those species, as is the case with O. dedariensis.

Adult: phloem feeder.

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

Colour. Body dark brown, carinae paler; legs light to mid brown; forewing hyaline colourless with indistinct or without brown marks along crossveins, veins mid brown, tubercles concolorous with veins, pterostigma mid brown; abdominal sternites dark brown. Morphology. Body length: ♂ 4.6–4.9 mm, ♀ 5.0 mm. Head: Vertex (total length) 1.6–1.8 times longer than wide; basal emargination obtusely angled or rectangular. Postclypeus with evanescent or well-developed median carina. Rostrum reaching or not reaching hind coxae. Thorax: Hind margin of pronotum obtusely angled or rectangular. Mesonotum with evanescent or well-developed median and lateral carinae and well-developed sublateral carinae. Forewing 3.6 times longer than wide; costa with 5–9 tubercles; 8 apical cells. Male genitalia: Aedeagus: Phallotheca with a long, bifurcated spine dorsolateral; a shorter spine left lateral; a flattened bifurcated spine ventral; a long, flattened bifurcated spine right lateral; a rounded spine right lateral; a short spine; and a very short spine dorsal. Flagellum membranous with two sclerotised blades and one sclerotised spine. (Löcker et.al. 2006)
