Introduction

This species is difficult to separate from and sometimes misidentified as Oxyeleotris fimbriata. Both are found in rivers of Cape York, but this species is currently known from much further south on the east coast of Queensland.

Extra Distribution Information

Western Cape York (Wenlock River 12°18'S and Jardine River, 11°10'S) and eastern Cape York from Pascoe River (12°42'S) and an isolated population from the Mulgrave River to the Murray River, QLD (18°03'S) and possibly south to Rockhampton (23°50'S), QLD; tropical, New Guinea.
