A reasonably commmon species across the tropical north of Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

Adult: phloem feeder.

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

Colour. Body including legs light brown (with a yellow or orange tinge), pronotum paler; forewing hyaline white or light brown with brown marks along crossveins, veins light brown apically darker, tubercles concolorous with veins, pterostigma light brown; abdominal sternites light brown. Morphology. Body length: ♂ 6.2–7.4 mm, ♀ 7.2–8.6 mm. Head: Vertex (total length) 1.4–1.7 times longer than wide; basal emargination obtusely angled. Postclypeus with well-developed median carina. Rostrum reaching or not reaching hind coxae. Thorax: Hind margin of pronotum obtusely angled or rectangular. Mesonotum with evanescent or well-developed carinae. Forewing 3.0–3.5 times longer than wide; costa without tubercles; 9 apical cells. Male genitalia: Aedeagus: Phallotheca very short and wide with a long, flattened spine left lateral; a long, flattened spine right lateral; and often with 1–3 small spines. Flagellum membranous with sclerotised ridge, unarmed. (Löcker et.al. 2006)
