Introduction

This species is quite widespread in Queensland, from Dunk Island in the wet tropics to Brisbane, in SE Queensland and inland to Roma in the south brigalow belt. There are also specimens in ASCU from Berrimah, in the Darwin region of the Northern Territory.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

The two Australian species can reliably be identified only by reference to the structures of the male genitalia although this species is somewhat smaller than N. grandiceps. Since at least one undescribed species is known, examination of the male genitalia is needed to identify these species. Woodward (1957) illustrated the male genitalia of both described Australian species of the genus.
