Subfamily Nisiinae Muir, 1930

Introduction

All the Australian meenoplids belong to this subfamily, one of two recognised by Muir (1930). The Nisiinae is distributed primarily across the Oriental Region with extensions west to Africa and east to the Pacific Islands and Australia.

 

Diagnosis

Claval veins forking near apex of clavus; the first claval vein strongly granulated, second not granulated or only slightly; first claval vein generally curved, second subparallel to commissure (Muir 1930).
