Diagnosis
Integumental colour of head yellow; antennae with pedicel, flagellum and apex of scape black. Scutum black with yellow at sides; postpronotal lobes, scutellum and legs yellow except part or all of fore coxae brown. Pleurae yellow except anterior half of anepisternum, ventral half of katepisternum, and meropleurite brown. Abdomen with tergites 1-4 black, tergites 5-7 black with posterior border narrowly yellow. Hairs on frons black or dark brown, at least in median 2/3. Reflective scales on scutum, scutellum and abdomen green. Wing pattern sexually dimorphic as follows: male with basal half of wing brown with distinct border, apical half hyaline, brown extending almost to tip of dm and tip of R1. Female similar to male, except basal brown marking less intense and indistinctly graduating to hyaline apical half. Haltere knob yellow with brown on anterior margin. Body length 5.5-8.4 mm.
