Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy

 

Introduction

This group is known only from the Oriental Region and northeastern Australia, and consists of five genera. Two genera occur in Australia: Apoplectus Raffray, and Simplicorfa Chandler (Chandler 2001: 380).

 

Diagnosis

Maxillary palpi with fourth segments small, bases truncate, lateral and mesal margins gently convex; antennal clubs formed by large antennomeres XI, antennomeres IX and X much smaller, often no larger than VIII (Simplicorfa an exception); head with or without narrow postantennal sulci at lateral margins, never enlarged as setose incisions. Body cylindrical in cross section.
