Ecological Descriptors

Adult: diurnal, herbivore, volant.

Larva: wood-borer (associated flora: Eucalyptus baxteri (Benth.) Maiden & Blakely ex J.M.Black [MYRTACEAE] Brown Stringybark; Corymbia tessellaris (F.Muell.) K.D.Hill & L.A.S.Johnson [MYRTACEAE] Carbeen, Manna Gum, Moreton Bay Ash; Eucalyptus sp. [MYRTACEAE] Gum Tree; Eucalyptus obliqua L'Her. [MYRTACEAE] Messmate Stringybark; Eucalyptus goniocalyx F.Muell. ex Miq. [MYRTACEAE] Mountain Grey Gum; Eucalyptus haemastoma Sm. [MYRTACEAE] Scribbly Gum; Eucalyptus saligna Sm. [MYRTACEAE] Sydney Blue Gum; Metrosideros sp. [MYRTACEAE]).

Extra Ecological Information

Tepper (1887) recorded this species from Eucalyptus baxteri and E. obliqua; Hawkeswood & Peterson (1982) recorded this species from E.haemastoma, E. saligna, Eucalyptus sp. and Metrosideros sp. (Myrtaceae); Williams & Williams (1983) recorded this species from trunks of Eucalyptus sp.; Turner & Hawkeswood (1995) recorded E. goniocalyx as a larval host.
