Mottled Conger
- Poeciloconger kapala Castle, P.H.J. 1990. Two new species of the previously monotypic congrid eel genera Poeciloconger and Macrocephenchelys from eastern Australia. Records of the Australian Museum 42(2): 119-126 [dated 1988] [121, figs 1A-C, 2].

Holotype AM I.25923-005 (female), off Port Stephens, NSW, 16-64m [32°41'S, 152°16'E to 32°44'S, 152°15'E].
