Diagnosis

Venation nearly similar to Alebroides Mats., but the vertex flat, sharp conically produced and longer than the pronotum, having no ocelli, antennae not longer than the head, pronotum and scutellum combined; the third sector to the hind wing long stalked (Matsumura 1931).

The subgenus Togaritettix Mats. differs from Motschulskyia s. str. chiefly by a contrasting sclerotisation of pygophore side making impression of consisting of separate sclerotised plates. Thus the flattened pygophore side shows very serious differences in comparison with the same of Motschulskyia s. str.. Subgenital plates in subgenus Togaritettix fused by their bases like in Motschulskyia s. str. but anterior margin of the last abdominal sternite almost straight, not incised as in Motschulskyia s. str.. Connective almost cylindrical and compressed laterall at both ends (Dworakowska 1971).
