Introduction

This species, recorded from a single locality in the Northern Territory, bares two dark irregular marks on the crown which differ from those of M. capitata in which the marks are circular spots.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: grassland, phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

This species differs from all other known Mayawa species in having a pair of large maculae on the crown and the paired processes on the aedeagus greatly reduced and inconspicuous (Dietrich 2021).
