Introduction

This is a very widespread species extending from the Philippines through Indonesia to New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Fiji. It is also recorded from SE Queensland. Whether this distribution represents a single species or a multiple species complex requires further study. Other described species in the Oriental, Australasian and Pacific regions have more restricted distributions.

Diagnosis

Pallidissime griseo vel olivaceo-flavescens, capite, thorace, scutello pedibusque anterioribus nigro-conspersis, bis etiam nigro-maculatis; fronte apicem versus, clypeo, lateribus prostethii nec non maculis parvis marginum costalis et apicalis tegminum nigris; tegminibus a basi ad medium nonnihil ampliatis, marginibus lateralibus pone medium parallelis instructis, hic illic confluenter fuscoconspersis, venis infuscatis; alis fuscis; vertice fere aeque lato ac longo; fronte apicem versus sat ampliata, vix longiore quam latiore, carinis duabus distinctis, apicem haud attingentibus, sursum convergentibus, prope basin in unam conjunctis, et apicem versus carina abbreviata subtilis longitudinali instructa. ♂'- Long. cum tegm. 9½, lat. thor. 3 mm. (Stål 1870).
