Genus Lollius Stål, 1866

Compiler and date details

20 April 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This genus is distributed from Australia to the Philippines with a single widespread species recorded in SE Queensland. Metcalf (1958) lists 19 species from the Seychelles to Fiji but most species are fairly limited in their distributions. L. australicus is recorded from the Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Queensland. A revision of the genus is needed to determine whether L. australicus is really so widely spread or if it comprises a species complex.
