Introduction

A single species recorded from Rockhampton in Queensland to Brookfield in New South Wales. The name refers to the diagnostic spoon-shaped genital styles of the male.

Adult: phloem feeder.

Nymph might be phloem feeder or fungivore.

 

Diagnosis

Colour. Vertex yellow, central part mid brown; face yellow, clypeus usually slightly darker; pronotum yellow to light brown; mesonotum mid brown, lateral parts darker; legs yellow to brown; forewing hyaline white with light brown and mid brown areas, veins light brown, tubercles dark brown; abdominal sternites mid brown, intersegmental membranes yellow to orange. Morphology. Body length. ♂ 6.1–6.8 mm; ♀ 6.6–7.3 mm. Male genitalia. genital styles narrowly spoon-shaped. Aedeagus: phallotheca with a long, sinuate spine arising ventrolaterally near apex and a very short spine ventrally below midlength; flagellum unarmed. (Löcker et.al. 2006)
