Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Zoology 41: 89-181, 26 text-figs [145, 159] [Gurney, R. 1938. The larvae of the Decapod Crustacea, Palaemonidae and Alpheidae. Scientific Reports of the Great Barrier Reef Expedition 1928–29 6(1): 1–60 figs 1–265 (35) proposed this name as a uninominal collective group name; but it was Gurney & Lebour (op. cit.) who referred Leander tenuicornis to the name, thereby according it generic status; gender masculine].
