Introduction

This genus is widespread in the Oriental and Pacific regions with a single representative in the wet tropics of North Queensland.

Diagnosis

Caput cum oculis thorace angustius, vertice subquadrato, apice inter oculos nonnihil producto, carina transversa a fronte separato; fronte latitudine media plus duplo longiore, elevato-marginata, a basi ad medium subparallela, dein apicem versus sensim multo latiore; labro fronti fere aequilongo, marginibus et medio carinato. Oculi mediocres, subtus valde sinuati. Ocelli mox ante oculorum marginem inferiorem siti. Antennae — ? Thorax brevissimus, postice valde angulato-sinuatus. Tegmina corpore longiora, nervis longitudinalibus, raro furcatis, apicem versus nervis transversis semel conjunctis, nervis longitudinalibus secundo et tertio in disco nervo transvero etiam conjunctis. Pedes mediocres. (Stål 1859).

Vertex a little longer than wide, produced in front of eyes, middle of the disk sunken, lateral margins widely flat and raised, strewn with sensory organs, converging slightly not meeting anteriorly, anterior margin truncate, posterior margin acute, elevated, truncate, (the lateral margins are produced a little posteriorly beyond the base) posterolateral angles acute. Frons narrow, lateral margins acute, strongly elevated vertically, wider apically than basally, a little constricted medianly. Antennae short, rather smoothly subglobose. Pronotum wider than head, roundly rectangular posteriorly, somewhat obsolescently tricarinate, scutellum obsolescently 5-carinate. Tegulae extending laterally farther than pronotum. Costa granulate.
