Type data:
Holotype QM T10947 ♂ (coll.: 2.x.1982, 680 m, Monteith, Yeates & Thompson, pyrethrum knockdown, rainforest), NE Queensland, 3.5 km W of Cape Tribulation.
Introduction
A small (< 4 mm) rainforest species from far north Queensland. It was described from two males and one female.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Donaldson (1988) differentiates the two species of the genus on the basis that K. hylonoma has a shorter rostrum, which reaches only to the level of the hind trochanters, and has the frons slightly concave between the lateral margins and the submedian carinae.
