Introduction

This delicate bright green planthopper appears to be associated with river mangroves, Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco (Primulaceae), having been collected from these plants at more than one site on the New South Wales coast. Fletcher (1979) provided details of egg laying by the species and Fletcher (1981) provided detailed descriptions of the life stages, including adult morphology.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder (associated flora: Aegiceras corniculatum (L.) Blanco [PRIMULACEAE] River Mangrove).

 

Diagnosis

Pale green. The clavus and corium darker green, the veins green. Wings hyaline with green veins. ♀. Length, 5.2 mm; tegmen 6.1 mm (Muir 1931).
