Introduction
This species shows a wide range of morphological variation, as discussed by Roberts (1960). Further research may show that specimens identified as I. tasmani include more than one species (Roberts, 1970). Ixodes tasmani victoriae Schulze 1935 may be one such species, but it is currently not considered as valid (Guglielmone et al. (2017). Barker & Walker (2014) reviewed the biology and morphology of this species in detail.
