Introduction

This species is widespread in Australia. It differs from other species of the genus mainly in features of the male genitalia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: gregarious, myrmecophilous, phloem feeder (associated flora: Euphorbia kimberleyensis B.G.Thompson [EUPHORBIACEAE]).

 

Diagnosis

Face of head, anteclypeus and frontoclypeus medially, and vertex, dull brown; remainder pale brown. Pronotum greyish brown mottled with dark brown. Scutellum black. Tegmen hyaline brown with oval white hyaline markings of varying distribution. Length ♂ 4.2 mm (Evans 1966).
