Introduction
This species was originally designated within Stylochus (Imogene) Girard, 1853; not known from Australia, however, it is an important pest species from the Solomon Islands. These flatworms prey on pearl oysters (Pinctada maculata (Gould)) and giant clams (Tridacna gigas (Linnaeus, 1758)) and this species has important consequences for aquaculture operations in Australasian waters.
