Type species:
Halicmetus ruber Alcock, 1891 by monotypy.
Introduction
The genus Halicmetus was recently reviewed by Ho & Last (2018) who removed H. marmoratus Weber 1913 from synonymy with H. reticulatus Smith & Radcliffe 1912, described two new species from Australia, and confirmed the presence of other species in the region.
