Diagnosis

This species resembles H. dickmani sp. nov. in body shape and general structure of male palp but can be distinguished by palpal femur with distinctive, stout, conical, dorsal apophysis. Males and females can be separated from H. dickmani sp. nov. by having carapace with two lateral bands that unite just behind the fovea and reach posterior margin and cephalic area broad (Fig. 2G,I). Both species differ in their abdominal pattern from all other Habronestes species of the macedonensis-group by having a pale abdomen with dark chevrons.
