Paratype(s) WAM C 38269 numerous parthenogenetic females, same locality as for holotype.

'[L]ives in shallow, lowland coastal freshwater lakes and marshes, and clearly favours the littoral and similar habitats with dense vegetation. It occurs in slightly acidic to neutral waters with no particularly distinctive water chemistry'.
