Genus Galela Distant, 1906

Compiler and date details

10 February 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This genus contains three species, two from Western Australia and one from Indonesia. They are fairly dull brownish species but the two Australian species have the base of the hindwings coloured with orange. Lallemand (1963) provides a key to separate the three species and Nagai & Porion (1996) provide illustrations in which the differences in the hindwing coloration of the three species are clearly visible.
