Ashmore Reef, Timor Sea, Scott Reef and Beacon Island, WA (28°28'S) to One Tree Island, QLD (23°30'S), records from Middleton Reef and Lord Howe Island require confirmation because of similarity to E. hoesei; tropical, east-Indo-west Pacific.
