Holotype ANIC ♂ (coll: 17.v.1983, I.D. Naumann, J.C. Cardale, at light), 8 km SW Walsh Point, Western Australia [14.37S, 125.48E].
Introduction
This species is one of three added to the Australian fauna by Liang, et al. (2012) from northern Australia. The species can be differentiated reasonably reliably on coloration.

All stages: xylem feeder.
Diagnosis
Liang, et al. (2012) give a comprehensive description of this species. The species is similar to Euryaulax arctofasciatus Liang, Combéfis & Jiang, but differs by the ratio between the length of the subgenital plates and the ventral part of the aedeagal shaft. The species can also be differentiated from typical E. carnifex in have the body distinctly smaller, slender, the reduced dark brown fasciase on forewings and the extreme end of the subgenital plates slightly shorter than the tip of the ventral, posteriorly directed part of the aedeagal shaft in ventral view (Liang, et al. (2012).
