Species Eufairmairia cupreus Distant, 1916

Compiler and date details

7 April 2012 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This is one of two species of the genus known to occur in south western Western Australia. The type data given by Broomfield (1971) indicates that the collection was made between 23.xii.1013 and 23.i.1914 by R.E. Turner who is well known for having collected in SW Western Australia between 1935 and 1936 (see Day & Fletcher 1994) but there is little information about his earlier trip. The collector was given as R.E. Turner by Distant (1916) and it is presumably the same collector. The species was only tentatively placed in Eufairmairia by Distant (1916).
