Introduction

This species was described from at least ten specimens from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria (Broomfield 1971).

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head and pronotum dark purplish brown; sternum and legs a little paler; lateral areas of sternum and basal angles of scutellum greyishly tomentose; tegmina subhyaline, the venation ochraceous, base and basal half of costal area purplish brown; pronotum coarsely wrinkled and punctate, centrally longitudinally carinate, the lateral processes broad, compressed, obliquely upwardly directed, their apices roundly truncate, the posterior apical angle acute, their upper surfaces distinctly longitudinally carinate, posterior process reaching or almost reaching the tegminal apex, tricarinate. Long., incl. tegm., 7–8 mm.; exp. lat. pronot. process. 5 mm (Distant 1916).
