It was placed in the Chloephorinae by Nye (1975) and Poole (1989). Kitching & Rawlins (1998) followed Speidel et al. (1996) who placed it in the Nolidae as a monobasic subfamily Eligminae, which was also supported by Jacobson & Weller (2002). Holloway (2003) retained it as unplaced in the Noctuoidea but a convicing molecular phylogeny generated by Zahiri et al. (2010) has now placed this genus in the Nolidae in subfamily Eligminae (Holloway, 2011))
