Holotype AM K71521 ♂ (coll.: light trap), Darwin, Northern Territory.
Introduction
This species is marked with extensive red areas with pale brown banding on the wings although there is considerable variation shown. It is distributed across the top end of Australia from Western Australia to far North Queensland. It has one of the silliest names of any Australian leafhopper.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: parenchyma feeder.
Diagnosis
Yellowish testaceous, face light. Brown red pattern. Upper pygophore hook curved and broadened at tip. Subgenital plate broad in apical part with two or three macrosetae; outer plica quite long, broadened at tip. terminated with a small process. Upper part of paramere slightly arcuated, ornamented with big, irregular ledges. Aedeagus short, serrated at sides, ornamented with teeth on its dorsal surface, broadened in the middle part. Length ♂ 3.1 mm, ♀ 3.3 mm (Dworakowska 1972).
