Introduction

This species has been misidentified by most authors subsequent to Distant (1916) but its identity was established by Day (1999) who also stated that most other specimens ascribed to the genus, from Papua New Guinea, Queensland and South Australia, belong to other genera. The only known locality for C. festivus is the type locality, Kuranda in the wet tropics of North Queensland.
