Species Colgaroides viridis Lallemand, 1935

Compiler and date details

17 March 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

Medler (1988) notes that Lallemand's (1935) original figures are labelled as being "Colgaroides acuminata n. sp." in error and said that a topotypic male was needed to confirm the validity of this species. Later (Medler 2001), he figured the male genitalia of a specimen from Humpty Doo, Northern Territory and confirmed that the species is distinct from C. acuminata. This male was part of a series of 5 ♂ and 5 ♀ plus one nymph which were collected on Opilia amentacea Roxb. (Opiliaceae), which indicates that this species is probably a host for C. viridis.
