Introduction
This New Guinean species is recorded from Dauan Island in the northern Torres Strait. Since this is part of Queensland, it is recorded in Australia. Medler (2001) noted some variation in the structures of the male genitalia and suggested that further study may reveal a complex of species.

Diagnosis
Vertex noticeably longer than pronotum, vertex / pronotum ratio 1.66–1.68. Pronotum postocular pleural ridge carinate. Tegmen sutural angle acutely produced. Considerable variation in colour markings exist among specimens that have similar morphological characters of head and tegmen. Male pygofer with posterodorsal process with notched apex. Variant genital characters mostly involve shape of processes arising from apical coil of the aedeagus (Medler 2001).
